Riverrun is the ancestral seat of House Tully, Lords Paramount of the Trident and the Riverlands. It is situated in the Riverlands, where the Red Fork of the Trident and the Tumblestone rivers meet.

The current head of House Tully is Hoster Tully, but his health is failing, and his son Edmure is holding the castle in his name.
